Emphatic
In my life as an SAP consultant, I spend most of the day solving problems. And as the great Peter Bregman says most of the time we just need to be good listeners.
Every day, I receive emails, chats, and tickets full of challenges.
The biggest challenge is to respond to what a person wants to hear.
According to Peter Bregman, the secret is:
- Connect with each other; would say empathy?
- Show respect; empathy again?
- Help others to feel better. Well, empathy?
- Solve the problem.
I agree, I think we can this up in two: empathy and problem-solving.
I usually do not use only with clients but I train a lot with my children.
In the case of clients or colleagues, I can’t negotiate with chocolates (or I can ) but I am always available to understand and put myself thought the person who has the problem. If not, at least I felt the need for the other. It’s already something.
